Scheduled for completion in 2021, Brazil is carrying out a megaproject use of RFID in post implementation supported by a UN agency
The Post Office and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), Swiss specialized agency of the United Nations postal services, I chose Correios Brazil to implement the third phase of the Global Monitoring System based on RFID technology. The project will be one of the largest cases of implementation of RF the world, demanding a lot of labels, readers and systems.
The mega project will be done through an international agreement to track cards worldwide via UHF RFID tags which will be required at the least 461 million tags of different formats, sizes and applications.
For the implementation will be used 15 percent of the volume label for 2019, While for 2020 the forecast is that it will reach 60 percent and 2021 It will reach 100 percent.
Currently the project has 465 radio frequency readers 25 operating units in São Paulo, Brasilia, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo y Bahia. In these cities will take place certification label, Numbering control, barcodes and RFID, In addition to the self-adhesive labels.
Notably chose Brazil for its vast territory that will allow standardization of processes, notwithstanding the language barrier and any taxes.
RFID technology will control every mailpiece while reading antennas envelopes, individual and batch packets without manipulating objects obtaining time information input and output, increasing quality control and safety, minimizing time and reducing losses.
